  • Complete the following and save to OneDrive, iPhone Notes, or other digital organizer.

     

  • Create Apply Texas account and essay (if applicable), save username and password.  (Students can apply to most Texas colleges on here, but some universities may require their own application and essay). ***Due to COVID-19, many colleges are exempting students from this requirement; ask your college about the requirement. *** 

     

     

    • Undecided on what to do? Don’t be silent, speak to a teacher, counselors, or administrator.
      • UTRGV, TSTC, STC, and other local colleges are great options and have several career pathways that pay well!
  • Complete college application attachments found in 12th Grade resources google drive.
    • Fee Waiver
    • Complete Consent to Release form
    • Ask the nurse/counselor about your Immunizations (not in google drive)

     

  • Complete other college applications and essays (if college is not on Apply Texas).

     

  • Start looking for scholarships
    • Complete scholarship applications and essays. (This can be time consuming, but it’s free money for a little bit of your time and smarts.)

     

  • Digital footprint

     

  • Community service, create a digital log of
    • Volunteered dates

    • Event supervisor

September

 

  • FSA ID (Federal Student Aid ID).  Students and guardians will need to complete separate accounts using their own email addresses. ***
  • Complete Consent to Release form found in 12th grade resources google drive.
  • Texas Student Housing scholarship application for College Station, and Denton.
    • This form is mailed directly to Counseling Department, ask counselors or secretary for a copy.

  • UTRGV Dual Enrollment Spring Registration begins (Juniors and Seniors).
  • Class song and moto voting
  •  Order your cap and gown

  • Senior Picture Day
  • Submit scholarship applications
  • Request your transcript for any upcoming college applications
  • Request Admission test to be sent to the colleges you applied to
  • Send Thank You notes to people who wrote you letters of recommendation

 

December

 

  • Submit scholarship applications
  • Submit any remaining application. (Apply Texas deadline is December 1, 2020)
  • Check college admission status
    • If you are missing an item contact college directly
    • When accepted inform counselor
  • Apply for Local Scholarships (December 17th) Deadline Feb 1st.
  • Begin submitting Apply TX for UTRGV for Next Fall
